This is a project that students completed while reading the book "The Compound" by S.A Bodeen. Students were required to created their own compound with an unlimited budget. There were several assignments that were part of this project. The students enjoyed the freedom to be creative with their writing and drawing. This is a PowerPoint geared to helping middle school students prepare for on demand writing and the writing portion of state tests. It is simple and to the point so students can better understand. Students enjoyed coming up to the board for the practice parts to actually circle, underline, and box the correct answer.

This is a literature packet for the novel "To Kill A Mockingbird." It has each role, instructions, and an explanation for literature circles. I've had great success using this once or twice during this novel. Students get a chance to work collaboratively and lead their own discussion. This is a handout that contains mini charts with the different types of transition words. My students were required to keep this handout in their writing notebook for reference throughout the year. A great tool for students to have handy when learning to multiple paragraph essays.

This is a power point used during team meetings in a middle school. It shows teachers of math, social studies, and science how to better incorporate writing into their subject. Excellent starter for teachers who struggle with writing in their classroom.
