This is a weekly assignment that I have my kids do. I gave them this rubric at the beginning of the year with all of the different formats they would see throughout the year. You could do this is any subject and age really, just tailor it to fit your needs! Keeping up on current events is important for everyone- start them out young so they can stay informed later in life! Also practices reading comprehension and critical thinking. Technology is also used.

In this assignment, students are walked through the very basics on how to insert an image in Word, duplicate it, change its color, etc. I've used with high school but would be fine for much younger students.
