This is a fun assignment for students that are learning the selling process in a marketing or other business class. Students use a free online program called Storyboard That to create a storyboard/comic strip that details the selling process. Students love creating these creative and fun storyboards- we have alot of laughs in class! Saving and submitting is easy as well- students just have to email, tweet, or Facebook them to you! UPDATED: Now in a Word format rather than PNG file.

Students go around the room to 4 different stations in which there are different types of advertisements displayed (magazine, Instagram, celebrity endorsements, and TV). Students use their customer profile wheels (you can print out or have students create earlier) to complete a customer profile for each of the different types of ads. At the last station, students will trace a group member onto large roll paper and then color the "person" to represent one of their customer profiles. Five question

Fridays can be fun AND full of learning with this idea called 5x5 Friday. 5 students compete with 5 minutes, 5 slides, and a chance to earn an automatic 55 points! I also give out $5.00 gift cards to our school based enterprise to our winner. It's competitive and fun but more importantly students are engaged and learning some new and interesting in business. These have been so successful that I have presented on them at a state-wide marketing educators conference. My students LOVE Fridays again!

This 10 slide PowerPoint teaches students some of the tips for writing professional emails. It comes with two examples that need fixing. I use this with my 9-12 graders but would be appropriate for middle school or even adult education as well. You can also purchase the assignment "Bad Emails" for more practice and to complete the full hour long lesson.

This is a weekly assignment that I have my kids do. I gave them this rubric at the beginning of the year with all of the different formats they would see throughout the year. You could do this is any subject and age really, just tailor it to fit your needs! Keeping up on current events is important for everyone- start them out young so they can stay informed later in life! Also practices reading comprehension and critical thinking. Technology is also used.

You will need two files- the preview file and then the paid download which has all of the instructions. Students will open the file Wadhams Total Fitness Report and follow the instructions on Word Practice #2 to work on cover pages, table of contents, inserting tables, screenshots, and more. A great activity for 8th grade and up in a computer class or a class that wants practice with created reports on computers.

I have my students fill one of these out after every chapter assessment. It allows me not only to have great feedback for the next time I teach that unit, but helps me to know what the students are still struggling with. I ask them questions like what note taking style they like best and if they have suggestions for reviewing better next time. I love hearing what my students think throughout the year, and this is a great way to do it! It's a Word format so you can edit it to fit your needs!

Spoons Game Review- Promotion

This is a twist on the popular spoons game. Instead of using playing cards, use the cards given. Students have to match the "title cards" with their descriptions. For example, if they get the celebrity endorsement card, they must find the "using Blake Lively in a hair commercial ad" to make a match. Google how to play spoons if you are unfamiliar. This was fun and served as a great review for my students.

This activity can be used for any set of vocabulary words. This one just happens to be for economics. Great way to review and have students put into their own words and drawings what the words mean to them.
