My teaching style is variable and changes with students' needs, the types of materials I'm presenting, and whether I'm guiding a whole-class lesson, teaching in small groups, or working one-on-one with students. To that end, I use explicit, direct instruction when needed, and inquiry-based, constructivist approaches when our studies are more open-ended in nature, though typically any given lesson of mine will reflect a blend of these traditional and progressive education models. I work hard to create a learning environment that is developmentally appropriate for all of my students.
