I created and taught the year long Personal Finance class that is taught at Berkeley High School in CA. I also taught AP Macroeconomics for 8 years. In AP Macroeconomics I teach a 3 week personal finance unit called The Road to Financial Freedom. This unit gives students the information, confidence and tools to implement everything they need to reach financial freedom. In my year long Personal Finance class, I expand on each of the topics covered in this 3 week unit, in addition to taxes, careers, expanding their dreams and how to reach their goals.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Ms. Rigley has been a key player in working with Next Gen Personal Finance to help California pass AB 2927 which requires all high school students to take a semester of Personal Finance to graduate by the year 2030. Her Personal Finance class hosted a press conference with State Superintendent Tony Thurmond, was featured on ABC News, Fox News and in articles by Berkeleyside and CAL Matters.
