This is a plot diagram with guiding questions for How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This was designed for level 3 English Language Learners in 6th grade but absolutely could be used with younger learners and older ELLs. This sildeshow covers the Aztec, Maya, and Inca civilizations. It includes printable fill in notes for students and a post note activity for each civilization. It also has multiple videos embedded into it to break up the note taking. This was designed to be ELL (English Language Learner) friendly with simple context focused langauge used throughout. I had great success with this in my 6th grade ELL social studies classes. I hope you find it jsut as useful in your own classes!

It was also designed for 6th grade social studies classes that had English Language Learners in it, so this product is ELL friendly.
This is a pre-reading vocabulary activity for the greek myth about Prometheus and Zeus. I used it with my 6th grade level 3 ELLs (English Language Learners) as an opening activity. Each student was assigned one word to work with. This could easily be adapted to be done: individually, in pairs, or small groups instead. This resource is a student facing worksheet that helps students work through a Khan Academy video about determining theme. I used it as a whole class assignemnt but it would also work as an independent or asyncronous assignment. The studnets I used this with were 6th grade, level 3 English Language Learners, so it is ELL friendly.
This is a free extension activity that goes with the Thanksgiving vocabulary game in my store. This activity was designed for a 6th grade newcomer social studies class. It is great for students who do not yet know English or who are still in the beginning stages of learning how to read.
