This assignment has students working on completing and reading two way tables and Venn diagrams in order to find probabilities. I have used this as a graded assignment and most recently gave it as partner assessment in Google Meet breakout rooms. There are two multi-part questions involving two-way tables and one with Venn diagrams.

This lesson provides notes as well as a note taking guide and exercise for students. There is also a class activity meant to get students thinking about how we graph different types of data. Students usually have no trouble with the categorical data, but sometimes get stumped as to how to graph the numerical data. Over the summer, I give my students an assignment based on the first chapter and section 2.1 of chapter 2 in The Practice of Statistics. At the beginning of each unit, I give my students a study guide that is due the day of the unit test. These guides are a good way to prepare for the unit as we go. At the end of the year students have a nice reference book for the whole course!

This is an activity that I did with my Geometry students to practice working with protractors. It is a cute activity, and students felt comfortable using a protractor at the end. The activity took approximately 30 minutes.
