This is a parent contact log that I use in my classroom.
I get parents to fill out their contact information at the top (or fill it in myself if they don't come to open house) and keep all the forms in a binder.
When I need to make contact I just find the correct form and fill out the:
Date
Time
Type of contact
Reason for contact
Outcome
Most schools require teachers to keep these types of forms these days so this just makes life a little easier!
This year I wanted to start my students off in groups, but that makes me a tab bit nervous. I decided to organize the process as much ahead of time as possible.
I decided to assign each group a type of candy and placed a sign at each group.
I then labeled each desk with their type of candy and a number.
Finally, on the first day a school students will be handed an index card with a candy and a number which will help them find their group and their seat.

About the store
Experience
I have been teaching English for over a decade in a small rural town. I have taught standard, inclusion, and advanced English classes.
Teaching style
I work hard to intergrate technology and fun into my lessons!
I love to use Prezis, Wikis, and songs/movie clips in my classroom.
(my kids seem to like it too!)
Awards & shining teacher moments
Technology Teacher of the Year (2011) &
Teacher of the year for my division (2011)
My own education history
I was homeschooled throughout my entire early education. In fact, my first day teaching in the classroom was my first day in a public school!
I hope that my background with homeschooling sometimes give me a fresh take on things when it comes to teaching.
Additional biographical information
I LOVE to read. I try to complete a book every other day (this normally works unless I am doing schoolwork!) I have two cats and two dogs...basically I am the quintessential/ sterotypical English teacher!
