Students will enjoy this artistic activity/project that uses Desmos.com to create a visual masterpiece. Some students will enjoy making their artwork aesthetically pleasing, while others will enjoy the abstract art concepts they can create. Having the students write both the equation, graph the function, and use a verbal description will require students to become familiar with transformation vocabulary.

In this self-checking gallery walk, students will practice solving and writing absolute value equations. Students can start at any card and after answering the question on that card they will be lead to another card with the correct answer on it. Students should answer all questions before finishing the loop. An answer key and two options for student response pages are provided. Either print the slides out on 8.5x11 pages and put them up on the walls or make a copy of the file and remove the tea
Use this activity to introduce the concepts of systems of equations in three variables. Students will solve for the value of a shape (as if it was a variable). Would be great to use as a hook or warm-up before showing these advanced types of systems of equations. The problems increase in difficulty.
**May be best to introduce when setting up and solving matrices as well!
This is a BreakoutEDU activity that uses four locked boxes to lead students through the many various ways to solve an equation. Students will begin with Problem 1 and find a solution that leads them to unlock the first box. Inside this first box, place the Problem 2 for each team. Repeat until all of the problems are finished and students officially "break-out!".
TEKS A1.11(B).
Great scavenger hunt for the first day of exponent rules. Most of the problems are very simple (not STAAR or high level) but great for fresh, new material. Can be used for Algebra 2 to review exponent rules taught in Algebra 1 before quadratics unit.
These QQT cards will help students understand small pieces of using the box to complete polynomial division problems. There are small explanations/coaching tips for students to use to help their peers answer the questions. Hope you enjoy!

Experience
I am a math teacher in Texas. The 2023-2024 school year with my 9th year teaching.
Teaching style
I like to use a mix of old-fashioned spiral note-taking and fill-in the blank notes. I like short notes, leaving time for students to practice with collaborative or electronic activities and projects.
