Oreo Observation
This activity can be used to show the relationship between quantitative and qualitative observations. Students will make qualitative observations about the Oreo using their 5 senses (see, smell, taste, etc). Then students will collect quantitative observations using science tools such as a ruler or double plan balance.

Experience
This is my seventh year teaching. I have taught both high school and middle school science courses including: biology, earth science, astronomy, ecology, life science and 6th grade general science. I am currently teaching middle school science.
Teaching style
I teach using many formats on a daily basis. No one student is the same so why should we teach all students in one manner. On a given day my students will work on mulitple assignements using all different formats. I try to switch up the day and get the students "moving" so they are not board. I also feel that the majority of students work better with "hands on" labs therefore, i incorporate them into each unit as well.
My own education history
My Bachelor's Degree is in Biology. I also have my Master's Degree in Teaching. I am certified to teach both Biology and Earth Sciences.
