Experience

I have taught for 10+ years.

Teaching style

I teach 6th grade and have for the last 4 years. I have a flipped classroom. My students watch videos at home that I make to learn the lesson and material. In class, we do engaging activities and/or practice work to reinforce the material. At the start of each week, students are in leveled stations to practice material from the previous week.

My own education history

I graduated from Cornell with a bachelors in Sociology. After college, I participated in the AmeriCorps program for two years. From there, I began teaching full time while earning my teaching credentials from the Texas Teaching Fellows program. I later moved to Oregon. While teaching here, I earned my masters. I am certified in math, elementary self-contained, middle self-contained, ESL, and recently completed my library media endorsement.
