This story goes along with the Urban Legends and Myths Google Slide product. The PDF contains the educational text and comprehension questions. Comprehension questions 1-7 are inferential questions while questions 8-11 are higher-level discussion questions.
This product can be used as an extension activity for students who are learning to write compound sentences. I suggest conducting a few lessons prior to using this activity. Students should understand when to use each conjunction, and should be able to demonstrate choosing conjunctions to create compound sentences before engaging in this writing activity.
