This will happen by giving them the first activity: “use the picture to write a multiplication story”. There are 3 different versions of the activity, to give each group different puzzles and we’re given different views and answers. As there are three different versions, the class will be divided into 3 groups and a different area on the whiteboard or their own whiteboard. The students will then be partnered up and given the sheet, dominos, and dry erase marker. The students will then pick a domino and count how many dots are on the top which represent spiders and then the bottom will be the flies. After knowing the number of dots on the domino they will know many spiders and flies the old lady ate. Then they place a spider for each dot on the top of the domino, then place spiders for each dot on the bottom of the domino. Each pair will take turns picking a domino

The ten-frame number talk is given; the colorful picture with 3 different ten frames. The students will be demonstrating what they know and notice about the number talk. Allowing me to see where the students or some students stand.
