Divisibilty Rules with Prime Factorization
In this activity, students will practice Divisibility Rules while solving for Mystery Numbers and applying higher order thinking to answer several thought provoking questions. Once they have mastered division, they will apply the skills to several Prime Factorization problems. An answer key is provided. This is an activity that I utilize as extra practice for when I need to be out of the classroom (sub plans).

The Great American Rate Race
QR Code Scavenger Hunt that takes student throughout the building solving rate and unit rate word problems. By solving the problems correctly, students are given a riddle or clue to where their next problem hides. Great way to get students up and moving. It also promotes those very important student-lead conversations which encourages higher order thinking skills. This activity is 6th Grade Common Core aligned to 6.RP.3

The Great American Rate Race Task Card Activity
If you are unable to use QR Codes in your classroom, this is a perfect alternative to my QR scavenger hunt. This activity includes 10 task cards prompting students to solve word problems relating to rate and unit rate. These task cards are beneficial through group competition as well as math centers. I am a no nonsense hands-on educator. I enjoy challenging students to think outside of the box in order to solve real-world problems. Being a certified eMINTS educator has allowed me to better incorporate differentiated instruction to my students while challenging them to become self-directed learners.
