Short Story Planning Sheet
After my students have read and analyzed several short stories whole group, then individually, we read one more short story together, "The Black Cat" by Edger Allen Poe, before they then write their own original short stories. This graphic organizers gives them models of all the literary elements in "The Black Cat" and provides room for them to organize their own ideas. Middle School Reading Packet for March is Reading Month
This packet guides students through the reading of historical, science, realistic (Michigan 8th grade genres) fiction AND a choice other fiction extra credit book. Teaching style
Constructivist: I believe that students learn best when they set their own learning goals and discover information for themselves. I use inquiry learning in my classroom as a structure for learning about the time periods from which literature emerges. My classroom is built around individual choice in reading and writing.
