Wintery Fraction Mix-Interactive Bulletin Board

Thank you for purchasing Wintery Fractions. I use this product in my own classroom as in interactive bulletin board. It could also be used in centers. After printing, laminating, and cutting the snowmen, hats, title page (two are included), directions, and answer key, I staple the snowmen to the bulletin board. I place small pieces of Velcro above each snowman and a piece on the back of each hat. I use clear book tape to tape the Answer Key cover to the actual answers, so students have to

Division Word Problems Bulletin Board

I created this interactive bulletin board for use in my own classroom. First, I recommend laminating all of the pieces. I then staple the pitchers of lemonade to the bulletin board. I placed a piece of Velcro next to each pitcher and a piece on the back of each cup. The purpose is for students to solve the word problem and then match the answer (cup) to the correct word problem (pitcher). I’ve included two different title pages, a page for directions, and the answer key. If you have any q

Math Operations Posters

This product is a great way to remind students there is more than one term to represent each operation in math. The posters list the more familiar term with different synonyms for that term. I’ve included two different sets, so you can choose which one suits your needs.

Watermelon Multiplication

The purpose of this product is to provide students with a fun way of learning their multiplication facts. The large watermelons and seeds included in this product are designed to be an interactive bulletin board. Print out the title page, directions, answer key, large watermelons, and large seeds, and then laminate them. Put Velcro on the large seeds and large watermelons. Attach everything to the bulletin board (except the seeds), and you have an interactive board for your students. Place

Common Core Standards: Grade 4 Math Documentation

My school will be implementing the Math Common Core Standards this year. Since these are new standards, I decided to create a binder to keep them organized and a documentation sheet to keep up with when and how I teach each standard. The documentation sheet lists each standard (color coded) and their parts with columns for the date and brief description of the lesson. By giving a brief description of the lesson, my goal is to use different methods so students who do not understand the first t

Common Core: Grade 5 Math Documentation

The documentation sheet lists each standard (color coded) and their parts with columns for the date and brief description of the lesson. By giving a brief description of the lesson, my goal is to use different methods so students who do not understand the first time have another chance. This is a great way to keep track of what standards you have taught, as well as when and how the standards was taught. Experience

I have been teaching since 2006. I have taught every subject in fourth, fifth, and sixth grades. My first year was a small self-contained sixth grade class. I then moved to fifth grade for four years. In those years, my classes were self-contained and on teams. I then moved to a small, at-risk, fourth grade class.

Teaching style

I believe it is important for students to be taught the information they should know. I spend a lot of time working with students in small groups and individually. Using higher-order thinking skills is also a must in my classroom. It is imperative to challenge students so that they can reach their full potential.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have received awards for having the highest TCAP (state test) scores in my school and district in Math, Science, and Social Studies.

My own education history

I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Mississippi in 2006. I then earned a Master of Arts in Education in 2012 from Bethel University.

Additional biographical information

I have been married since 2007. My husband and I share our house with our son, four dogs, and five cats. When I am not at school or spending time with my family, I am working on things for school.
