Start by solving one-step inequalities with four types of operations. Then verbalize/explain the thinking process behind that. Finally, graph the solution to linear equations. Wrap it up reminding us of keywords used for each symbol. And for extra credit, come up with stories either for inequalities or for their solutions. This could be used as an introduction or a review of linear inequalities on a number line and solving process. My students asked to work on it in class and and home. They wi
This activity is used as a final project for studying system of linear equations with focus on SUBSTITUTION. It involves a story problem that asks for writing linear equations, setting up system of equations, solving them by SUBSTITUTION, graphing them, then analyzing information, before making final decision.
