About the store

Experience

For over 20 years, I’ve been developing engaging, evidence-based health and physical education resources that help teachers deliver meaningful lessons with confidence. Drawing from my experience teaching middle and high school students and preparing future educators in higher education, I create lessons that are practical, standards-aligned, and ready to use. Every NovateWellness resource blends research, real classroom insight, and creativity to save you prep time — so you can focus on inspiring your students to move, learn, and live well.

Teaching style

My teaching style blends science-based instruction with hands-on, student-centered learning. Every lesson encourages movement, reflection, and real-world connection — helping students understand how physical activity and wellness shape their daily lives. Each resource is clear, flexible, and ready to teach, allowing educators to adapt lessons for different grade levels, learning styles, and classroom settings. The lessons are built using a mix of direct and indirect instruction, skill-based teaching, and cooperative learning strategies. I also integrate Sport Education Model to enhance engagement, and apply models such as the Personalized System for Instruction and Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU) to promote critical thinking, teamwork, and lifelong physical activity habits.

My own education history

From my Bachelor’s in Physical Education to my Ph.D. in Physical Activity and Exercise Pedagogy, my journey has always centered on one idea — movement changes lives. Studying human movement taught me that teaching isn’t just about activity; it’s about helping students discover strength, purpose, and joy in motion. That belief fuels every resource I create for teachers who want their students to move, think, and feel their best.

Additional biographical information

My research has focused on how physical activity, motivation, and teaching strategies influence student learning, engagement, and well-being. Studying these connections taught me that when teachers have access to evidence-based, practical tools, they can create transformative learning experiences — no matter the setting. That belief is the foundation of NovateWellness: to bridge research and practice by providing ready-to-teach, meaningful, and student-centered health and PE resources that help teachers make wellness education truly impactful.
