This product can be used as a fluency passage, identifying character traits, and identifying verbs. Students will read the passage, highlight the verbs, then answer 3 short answers questions identifying the character traits of Ruby, based on the details in the paragraph.

This can be used as a weekly reading log when teaching summarizing. I read a book aloud to my reading class, and each day they had to summarize what was read aloud. This is a great tool for teaching summarizing and main idea. It can be used with all different types of texts.

I taped this onto a package of gushers and gave to each of my students before our State test!

I did this with my First graders on the first and last day of school as a fun activity to compare. Enjoy!
