My most meaningful teaching moments come from the relationships built along the way. I’ve been fortunate to receive heartfelt shout-outs from parents who’ve seen their children gain confidence, independence, and emotional regulation skills they once thought were out of reach. Co-workers have recognized my commitment to collaboration, creative problem-solving, and bringing calm, sensory-friendly strategies into even the most challenging environments.
As a fieldwork supervisor, I’ve had the honor of supporting emerging OTs, earning recognition for guiding students with a balance of compassion, high expectations, and hands-on learning. But above all, my favorite moments are the countless “little victories” — a student identifying their feelings for the first time, a successful transition without tears, a quiet high-five after a tough day, or a child proudly using a new regulation tool independently. These small wins may seem simple, but they are the moments that light up my work and remind me why I’m so passionate about what I do.
