Scoot is a great game to play to review concepts, introduce concepts, and can even be used as a pre-or post-test. I recommend using this game to see if students understand what an even or odd number is before asking them to explain how they know a number is even or odd. The rules are simple:
1. Cut out the 24 task cards
2. Place each task card around the room in order. I suggest putting them in a place where students can move quickly from one to the next.
3. Students carry the recording shee
These pages will help students realize that even numbers can be equally divided into groups of two and that odd numbers cannot. Students look at the picture for each problem and have to circle groups of two to see if each number is even or odd. Then, they write "O" or "E" to show that they can connect the equal and unequal groups to the words "even" and "odd" . Comes with answer key for quick and easy assessment!

A simple matching game to reinforce the use of tens and ones. Simply print the cards on colored construction paper (so you can't see through them) and turn them over in an array. Players take turns trying to match the cards. When a match is made, the player gets to keep the cards. The player with the most cards at the end is the winner!
This game makes a great center! In this game, students take a look at the given sets to figure out the mystery number. They must figure out how many tens and ones there are, and then what the whole number is.
This game partners very well with teachers and students using Digi Blocks!
