Spelling is important but often left out in the curriculum. As you assign spelling homework, offer choice so that all of your students' needs are met as you differentiate the homework you assign each day.

The Problem of the Day for GOMath Grade 1 Chapters 1 through 5 are typed up on single pages (45 pages total) for quick and easy visual display on a Smartboard. Or this can be printed out as a student worksheet or packet in a Math Center or used for small groups who need more practice. This is a Word document and can be edited as needed (ej: font size, font type, etc.) These are Grade 1 problems but can easily be used in Kindergarten-Grade 2 depending on students' needs.

Experience

Kids make me laugh!

Teaching style

My students enjoy hands-on learning the most. Promoting process art, using Choice boards, encouraging student voice and student choice, incorporating technology such as iPads and the Smartboard keeps little ones engaged and excited about learning. I love a pop of color as an eye-opener all over the classroom without being overly-stimulating. Each year brings new creatures for studying from tadpoles, mealworms, and caterpillars to guinea pigs and hermit crabs. I believe in developing the whole child and finding the gift in all of us. I hope to make lasting memories for my students as we support each other through learning, laughing and whatever comes our way!
