Here is a list of the Journeys 2017 spelling words by unit for the year to send home. Just add the dates next to the lesson number so parents will always know what the spelling words are for the week. I added 4 high frequency words to lessons 1 to 15 to make 10 words. The extra words are in bold. I will let my students use the word wall for the 4 high frequency words. Keep track of either the Summer or Winter U. S. Olympic Medals count by filling in a circle for each medal earned on one of the 4 graphs I made. At the beginning of the year I send home the Word-to Know list for units 1-3 in their Homework Help Folder and then units 4-6 at the beginning of the second semester. I also send home the Words-to-Know list at the end of each unit for the parents to review with their child before I test their child over those words. Some of my parents really appreciate having these word lists at home to review and even like to work ahead with their child.
