This product was designed to teach your students to break apart a factor when multiplying single digit numbers (break apart strategy / distributive property) in order to build fact fluency. This skill is always so difficult for many of my students so I created these work mats to introduce and practice the concept and use in small groups. There are 5 variations of the work mat so you can use which one you prefer. If you use Ready Math this concept is introduced in lessons 6 and 7 for third grader
