Experience

I have taught everything from 3rd grade math through Honors PreCalculus in my 9 years in the high school class room, 7 years in the middle school classroom, and 20+ years teaching homeschooled students and tutoring. I also spent 7 years at the University level training teachers how to teach mathematics.

Teaching style

Developing growth mindset in students: “In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.” (Dweck, 2015) I like to use a mix of styles to reach a variety of learners.
