This is a fun and creative way to blend words. First, have students write each phoneme in a box. Cut out the characters and slide them across the road as they sound out the words. This game is such a hit in my classroom, I had to share it with you! Kids have fun with this and ask me to play anytime we have extra time. I developed these to have each blend in the corner. Students can get quicker at identifying blends and digraphs. Just like UNO, except students must say the word to play the card and they can match with the color or a matching blend in the corner. Kids love games. My students beg for this one all the time, so I had to upload it for you to! This is a spin-off of UNO, except that it's phonics-focused as BUZZ! The extra cards keep it interesting, and instead of a number in the corner, they can either match the color or syllable type, which helps kids become more fluent with syllable types. This is an easy Acadience based progress monitoring packet to track full class progress or individual student progress.
