This is a fun and creative way to blend words. First, have students write each phoneme in a box. Cut out the characters and slide them across the road as they sound out the words. This is great for young readers, individually or in a small group. Keep it fresh by printing out one for each holiday season. I do this in two variations. One where I write out the word, they copy, and we figure it out together. In the other variation, I give students the word, and they map it themselves, then we blend
Soft C and G are hard to learn, and this game brings a fun way to make them interesting. I developed these to make my students get excited about the concepts and recognize the combinations that make them soft. The kids play them so much, I had to share them. Kids love games. My students beg for this one all the time, so I had to upload it for you to! This is a spin-off of UNO, except that it's phonics-focused as BUZZ! The extra cards keep it interesting, and instead of a number in the corner, they can either match the color or syllable type, which helps kids become more fluent with syllable types. Don't forget to print pages 2-17, front and back, on cardstock, then laminate. I hope you love this as much as my intervention students do!

I developed this so that I wouldn't have to look up the cut off scores each time and this motivator helps students understand their level and where they need to go. I have students use a marker to color in their progress each week and use the golden tickets to send home for support and motivation. This is a great communication piece for parents, and accountability for students.
