Students will be assessed on the Law of Sines, Law of Cosines, and area formulas to solve AAS, SSS, SAS and ASA triangles. Section 1 of the assessment will ask students to answer 3 conceptual questions with always true, sometimes true, or never true. Section 2 will ask students 2 questions regarding area of an oblique triangle. Section 3 will ask students 2 questions regarding finding a specific piece of the triangle given information about the triangle. Section 4 of the triangle will ask stud
Math Kart review is a fun way to have students review angle properties within a triangle or parallel lines cut by a transversal. Students will get into teams of 3, and each member has a specific job. Cut the questions into strips and teams will work through each strip of problems. When they get a correct strip of paper they will exchange that for a clue about how the racers finished. When students complete all of the strips they will have all of the clues and can determine the race order. Thi
This bundle provides you with everything you need to cover the Law of Sines unit for your student(s)! Notes, homework, and activities are provided involving Law of Sines AND the ambiguous case triangle. Detailed answer keys are provided for each.
This is a new review game to spice up your review day! Students will review Law of Sines, Law of Cosines, multiple triangles, and area of an oblique triangles. Students will work in teams to complete the problem projected on the board. When they come to an agreement, they will put their answer on a post-it note and put the post-it note on the board under one of the 4 spring themed items (See pic). Correct post-it notes will stay on the board and incorrect post-its will be removed. Then the
This oblique triangle formula sheet includes formulas for the law of sines, the law of cosines, heron's area formula, and the SAS area formula. It includes step by step instructions for how to handle the ambiguous case for law of sines. On the back of the sheet it has step by step solutions for how to apply the law of sines, the law of cosines, and the ambiguous case.
This bundle includes 4 activities to help your students practice solving oblique triangles! This includes law of sines, law of cosines, area formulas, and ambiguous case triangles. Some activities focus specifically on one of the methods whereas others review all of them! Answer keys are provided for all activities.
Students will be given 2 area formulas for oblique triangles at the top of the assignment. 2 questions will provide students with pre-drawn triangles. Students will then have to decide which area formula to use to solve. 2 questions will ask students to set up their own triangle given information. Students will then have to decide which area formula to use and solve. 1 question will require students to apply their knowledge of the area formulas to inform decision making. Detailed answer
These worksheets will help students review all things oblique triangles. Students will practice using law of sines, law of cosines, law of sines ambiguous case, area formulas, and solving application questions. Detailed answer keys are provided for each assignment making them versatile for use for your student(s)!
This Angle Solve worksheet will help students practice vertical angles and all of the angles that come with parallel/transversal lines. The front side contains 6 solve for the variable questions. The back side contains 4 set up and solve a system of equations questions. Detailed answer key provided.
These partner practice quizzes are the perfect way for you to assess your students or have them practice various trig topics! After pairing up students I give V1 to one student and V2 to the other student. They are allowed to work together but have sperate problems which causes them to discuss more than copy. 2 questions require students to convert from degrees to radians and vice versa.2 questions require students to convert from degrees to DMS and vice versa6 questions require students to
This bundle provides you with everything you need to cover the Law of Cosines unit for your student(s)! Notes, homework, and activities are provided. Detailed answer keys are provided for each.
This activity helps students assess another person's work to find and fix mistakes! Students will find the errors, state what the errors are, and fix the errors to correctly answer the question. Question 1 requires students to use the Law of Sines. Errors include not looking for a second triangle and rounding incorrectly. Question 2 requires students to use the Law of Cosines. Errors include not solving for the largest angle first. Detailed answer key included!
This homework will help students practice working the a SSA triangle. Students will be given the formula for Law of Sines at the top of the paper. 2 questions will ask students to determine how many triangles are possible given a pre-drawn triangle. 3 questions will ask students to determine how many triangles are possible, then solve for all possible triangle given 3 pieces of information. Detailed answer key provided.
The Law of Cosines guided notes covers 2 main objectives. Objective 1 is when to use the Law of Cosines, tips and tricks, and two practice problems. Students will be expected to solve the entire triangle using law of cosines first, followed by law of sines. Objective 2 covers application problems using law of Cosines. Students will need to draw a triangle and label according to the description. Students will solve for various pieces of the triangle. Answer Key provided.
Picture the board game clue - but with a lot more triangles. Students solve triangles using the law of cosines to solve the mystery! Add your staff names into the teacher slots to make it more fun! Each time students answer a question, they will go to the "Who, what, and where" list and cross of the person, item, or place from their list of suspects. The remaining person, item, and location will solve the mystery! Answer key included.
This Law of Sines lesson covers solving a triangle using Law of Sines (LOS), a detailed explanation of the ambiguous case, solving multiple triangles, and area of a triangle. Answer key provided!
This activity brings an old game back to new math life! Students take turns drawing lines from dot to dot. When a student boxes in a problem they must complete it. If it is correct, they get to put their initials in the box. If it is incorrect the other student can steal by correcting their mistake. This review requires students to be able to use the Law of Sines in determining whether 0, 1, or 2 triangle(s) are possible when given a SSA triangle.
