After looking all over for an online resource for the marriage of Q and U, my kindergarten partner and I decided to make our own. Use this cute story on Google Slideshow to introduce the meeting and marriage of of the letter Q and the letter U.
I saw an activity posted on Pinterest by MathCoachsCorner and I tweaked it to work for St. Patrick's Day. You print the picture of the leprechaun and place it in a box lid or a basket. Give the students a target number or coins or tokens. Place the coins in the lid as well and instruct students to shake the lid GENTLY. Students will count and record the number of coins that land on and off the leprechaun.

This is a simple graph that I will use with my kindergarteners on St. Patrick's Day. I am using "Freaky Fruits" cereal that is 5 different colors. Each will get a small cup of the cereal. They will sort, record on graph by coloring columns and then answer questions. This is a guided activity.
