Practicality

I use this letter to send to parents about my student's low test scores. I send it home when my students don't do well on their weekly spelling test or math facts test. I hope that it will encourage parents to help their child study for the test.

I use this form to send home with the student to inform the parent that there was missing homework. The student is supposed to fill in the name of the assignment and then select the reason why he/she didn't have it. This form allows me to leverage the student's time so that I don't have to write a note home.

I use this sheet in my classroom to help my students reflect after they have misbehaved. I have the students reflect on the incident. Afterwards we talk about the problem and why they should not behave in that manner. At the very end you will notice it asks for the parent/guardian signature which serves as a way to inform the parents of the misbehavior.

The Figurative Language Finder is meant to be filled out by students as they read any fiction text. This document has helped my students become aware of what they are reading and search for figurative language as they read.

Have you ever left school with your brain in a knot?! I have definitely have! It's hard to keep track of everything that is happening in the classroom, so I created this tracker to ensure I would remember which students I had to collect homework from, who needed to turn in a behavior reflection sheet, and more.

I use this graphic organizer to teach the basics about writing a paragraph. I have found that using the hamburger analogy really helps students remember the order.

I use this in conjunction with Khan Academy. My students are in 3rd grade and I really encourage them to work hard and pass the early math mission, which will provide them with a solid foundation for the rest of third grade. As an incentive I reward them with this "30 Minute Free-time Coupon". The student love it and as a result they work really hard! I could customize this resource to fit whatever need.

I use this with my class when they plan videos to create on the iPad. They draw a picture of each scene in the box, then write a description of it. Finally, they list what they need for props as part of each scene.

This word problem graphic organizer helps students chunk a word problem to ensure they can solve the problem.

I used this template as final project after studying expository texts. I taught them about every part that makes up an expository text and the the students created their own expository text after doing research on a specific topic. It was great fun!
