I teach at a small Christian School in Washington State. We have spent a lot of time as a Music Department realigning our curriculum and updating what we teach in music K-12. We are very fortunate to have a 5-12 Band Program. Processing Form (Alternative Discipline Form)
This was used between me and another teacher. We were frustrated with sending students out into the hall unsupervised, or sending them down to the office wondering if they actually made it or the Vice Principal had time to see them. We wanted something a little more immediate and definite. If a student needed to be sent out, they went to my "partner teacher's classroom". It just happened they were the classroom next to mine. Experience

Teaching style
I have always felt extremely fortunate to teach the same students from middle school through high school and share in something that they love! When you are with students for 8 years, you can't help but get to know them and have a deep relationship with not only the student, but with the family as well. My students know that I love them dearly but I also hold them to a high standard not only musically, but morally as well. We make mistakes together but at the end of the day, hopefully we have lived corem Deo!!!!!

My HS Concert and Jazz Bands have always received a superior or excellent rating at festivals and contests.
One of the biggest highlights of my career was being able to work with composer Christopher Tin on a piece for my combined ensembles.

Additional biographical information
I have spent my entire career teaching in Washington State. I spent 24 years in the public schools and since 2017 have taught in a small private Christian School - and honestly since making the switch, I have never been happier or more satisfied with my career!!!
