Experience

I am an experienced elementary educator and curriculum leader with a focus on literacy instruction in grades K–5. My work centers on supporting teachers in reading, writing, and social studies, with a strong emphasis on aligning instruction to standards and assessments. I design curriculum resources, lead professional development, and collaborate with teachers to strengthen classroom practices and improve student outcomes. In addition to my instructional role, I also support extracurricular programs and value building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, engagement, and purpose. I believe students learn best when instruction is structured, meaningful, and connected to real thinking. I focus on helping students understand the “why” behind their learning, especially in reading comprehension and writing. I also prioritize strategies that promote discussion, critical thinking, and the use of evidence. I strive to create resources that are rigorous but accessible, giving teachers practical tools that are easy to implement and effective in the classroom.

My own education history

I have a background in education with a focus on literacy instruction and elementary learners. My professional learning has been centered around: • Reading comprehension strategies • Data-driven instruction • Intervention and small group systems • Curriculum planning and alignment As an instructional coach, I continue to grow through ongoing collaboration with teachers, analyzing student data, and refining instructional practices to better support student achievement.

Additional biographical information

I created Precision Literacy to share the tools and systems I use every day with teachers. I am passionate about creating resources that are both teacher-friendly and student-centered. My goal is to design materials that save teachers time while maintaining high levels of rigor and engagement. I understand the realities of the classroom and aim to provide tools that are practical, flexible, and aligned to what students truly need to succeed. Outside of my professional role, I value staying active, spending time with family, and being involved in youth activities and programs.
