This digital resource helps students understand the basics of a job reference, including why they're important and how to seek permission to use someone as a reference. This is a unit I created for introducing the concept of telling time to the hour for my special needs students. This unit is geared towards students with cognitive impairments with little knowledge of telling time or using analog clocks. This is a great introduction to the concept of time, and makes for a great stepping stone to further time concepts (half hour, quarter til/after, time to the minute, etc). This can be supplemented with other printables/activities as well.

After searching and searching for a printable Parent Input form for IEP meetings that was relevent for my self-contained Special Education students, I finally decided to create my own. This form is a great tool to send home to parents to help gather their input and opinions regarding their child's upcoming draft IEP. It's also a great form of documentation to show that you are seeking their input.

Daily assessment for students to reflect on appropriate on the job behaviors– would they be hired or fired based on their performance that day? Areas include communication skills, interactions with supervisors/co-workers, hygiene, etc. Informal assessment tool that would be great to include in IEP present levels as well as student Transition Plan. Includes opportunity for student to conference with teacher/job coach to discuss and set goals moving forward.

The free resource is an excellent way for special education teachers/case managers to document students' strengths, preferences, interests and needs as they relate to developing measurable postsecondary goals in the IEP.
