This PowerPoint was made to aid in the teaching of the Cinderella Rounding teaching strategy. The PowerPoint includes 12 slides that thoroughly explain in detail, how to round numbers using this strategy. I have been teaching students to round for years using this strategy, and it has worked every year!
This is a scavenger hunt that the students complete at Open House while the teacher is talking to parents and meeting with other students. We all know at Open House that there are a lot of important documents that parents have to fill out and this scavenger hunt keeps students engaged and gets them acclimated to the new classroom environment.

This is the best strategy that I have found to explain how to round. This guide is common core aligned with third and fourth grade standards.
This document allows you to complete concept maps for four words at a time. This resource is a great addition to vocabulary instruction. I have found that breaking apart vocabulary using concept maps, has increased student understanding of Tier 2 and Tier 3 vocabulary words.

If you use the clip chart behavior management system in the classroom, this form goes along with the "think about it" component. When students clip down to think about it, have them fill out this reflection form to help fix the trouble behavior.
This document can be used to have students write a quick response or to answer a question before leaving the classroom or before moving onto another subject area. Exit Tickets as a use of formative assessment can really help educators gauge whether students mastered content taught.

Students will assess their knowledge of the three number forms by completing this sort. You can use this activity as a classwork assignment, math center, or assessment. Students are responsible for cutting out the sort, and placing the examples under the correct header.

Instructions on beginning of the year activity where students bring items in a paper bag to describe themselves. This is a great beginning of the year activity or could be a great way to have students re-introduce themselves in the new year when returning to school.

My own education history
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In August I will pursue my Master's Degree in Reading Education.
