This document allows you to complete concept maps for four words at a time. This resource is a great addition to vocabulary instruction. I have found that breaking apart vocabulary using concept maps, has increased student understanding of Tier 2 and Tier 3 vocabulary words.

Homework Black Book Document
This is a form for teachers to hole punch and put in a binder. This can be used for students to write down when they have not done their homework. I use this as a "Black Book" and when homework is not complete, students write it down. I have pulled this out at parent teacher conferences and have been able to show parents exactly when homework is not complete and the student's excuse for not doing their homework. This allows students to take accountability of their own responsibilities as a stud

Experience
This is my fifth year teaching fourth grade at a Title-1 school. I teach a diverse population of students with very different academic abilities and behavioral needs. I am a mentor teacher for beginning teachers and a Teacher Leader in my school.
Teaching style
I am a very energetic teacher that values collaboration among students. I try to act as the facilitator the majority of the time and let the students lead their own learning.

I received Rookie Teacher of the Year my first year of teaching.
I am the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year for my school.
My own education history
I received my B.S. in Elementary Education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In August I will pursue my Master's Degree in Reading Education.
