This is a quick 7 problem quiz I used as a check in for area. It covers the following: basic area using squares, area without squares, area of larger rectangles where students need to use distributive property, area of compound shapes, and one word problem.

There are three different sets / levels of world problems for students to work on it. They are challenging and require students to apply critical thinking skills to understand the problem and attack it! This is meant to use after students have a strong understanding of area and perimeter. My students love challenging word problems!

Attached is a one page homework assignment that supports students' understanding of quadrilaterals. Students are asked to identify attributes of a quadrilateral, identify quadrilaterals in an assortment of shapes, and then find the perimeter of a quadrilateral (review from our last unit)

This is a quick check in for lines and angles.

This was a card game that my kids loved! I put them in the erasable mats so they can reuse the page. I also have digit cards 0-9 that the kids use with this game. They flip three cards over and round to the the numbers to the nearest ten. I turned it into a game by handing out counters (points) and the player with the higher number (once it was rounded to nearest ten) earned a point. The kids played this game with rounding to nearest ten and hundreds!

This is a powerpoint that I quickly made to teacher my 3rd graders what a parallelogram is. Included in the powerpoint is a cut, sort, and glue activity with shapes that are considered parallelograms and not parallelograms. (I think teach this shape before rect, squares, and rhombuses) Slides 1-3 are meant to be used whole class and the last two slides are meant for independent work. This is a partner game that I used for rounding to nearest hundred. Students flip over digit cards to form a 3 digit number. They sat across from each other used the number line (hill) on the board to round their number to the nearest 100. The player with the higher number earned a point (counter). Students stayed engaged and loved it!

These worksheets can be used as classwork or homework. It shows students how to round to nearest 100 with a number line.

This worksheet is great to use with rounding to nearest ten. I taught the kids to use the same number line for any number by adding the tens place in front of the 1-9 digits already on the number line. It worked great for all my students!

This is a worksheet that can be used to reinforce how to tell time in two different ways for students. Students need to calculate minutes to and minutes after the hour.

This is a two page template to use with protective sleeve covers where kids can use whiteboard markers to write with. I use the protective sleeves A LOT in my class to limit the number of paperwork. Students use this template during our time unit (specifically when I teach elapsed time and time intervals). They can follow along with my lesson or can practice problems with a partner.
