All literacy strands (reading, writing, speaking, and listening) are included in this unit, beginning with taking note of the necessary components involved in speaking and ending with students independently writing a speech or spoken word, which they will perform. While this unit can be used with any ninth or tenth grader, it has been developed with intentional scaffolds
