Its purpose is to ensure students have gained content mastery of the Westward Expansion unit while using critical thinking skills to look at the various issues from multiple angles. Teaching style
Up front, energetic, and lively. I like to go by the crawl-walk-run strategy that teaches students to be self-reliant before transitioning to high school.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I served with TEA on the 8th Grade STAAR Social Studies Item Review Committee and Cut-Score Committee. I've been the campus teacher of the year and district runner-up for my innovative teaching style and ability to work with distinguished populations. I've led 100s of PDs in everything from Advanced Academics and G/T updates to seven steps, pedagogy, and best teaching practices. I've also mentored multiple new teachers and written curriculum for my school district.
