Experience

I have been teaching for 25+ years at a suburban high school that has students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. I have taught Physical Science ( intro to physics and chemistry), Earth Science, Biology, Physics and Environmental Science.

Teaching style

I like to use combinations of reading, hands-on activities, practice worksheets, projects, lecture/notes, video clips and reports. I use my lab space several times a week and take my classes out of the classroom a lot to use labs, the outdoors around school and field trips off school property.

Additional biographical information

Active duty in the US Army, stationed in Germany for 2 years. Tennis coach for both boys and girls high school tennis, JV and Var. Leader for small groups of teens in numerous hiking,biking and canoeing wilderness trips.
