Stem Project-Game of Catapults
This is an exciting, hands-on STEM project in which students make small catapults with classroom supplies and collect data to calculate force, work, power, momentum and kinetic energy. At the end of the project the class can set up and compete in mini battles with their catapults in whatever type of games you want to come up with. Some game suggestions are given.

Experience
I have been teaching for 25+ years at a suburban high school that has students from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. I have taught Physical Science ( intro to physics and chemistry), Earth Science, Biology, Physics and Environmental Science.
Teaching style
I like to use combinations of reading, hands-on activities, practice worksheets, projects, lecture/notes, video clips and reports. I use my lab space several times a week and take my classes out of the classroom a lot to use labs, the outdoors around school and field trips off school property.

Active duty in the US Army, stationed in Germany for 2 years.
