A fun way to make the importance of shelter relevant to students. The lesson can be done at the beginning of a structures unit or at the end. I prefer the end as this allows students to look at their home in a new light once they have learned more about how animals build their homes. I would recommend using this lesson plan after my unit plan on structures of famous animal builders. Can be easily adapted for lower or higher grades.
