Texas has created new rubrics to grade the Extended Constructed Response (ECR) and Short Constructed Response (SCR) on the RLA STTAR in grades 3-8! The new STAAR redesign features an Extended Constructed Response (ECR) where students are asked to respond with an informational or opinion composition. I created this PLANNING SHEET GRAPHIC ORGANIZER to guide students as they map out their thoughts before drafting. I have included a copy with words and blanks as well. Want a fun way to build your classroom reading community??? These slips will help you do just that!! Anytime a student finishes a book, or we finish a book as a class, they will fill out one of the slips and drop it in the jar!
