This graphic organizer can be used with ANYTHING! I use it a lot when teaching minilessons about theme using Pixar shorts.
Students must identify the characters, setting, and conflict before writing a summary and then identifying the lesson learned by the character and the theme of the movie, story, etc.
My students enjoyed using this resource and I believe that it helped to increase their overall understanding of theme.
In this quick activity - students identify descriptive nouns and adjectives that helped them to visualize an image in the passage that they are reading.
They must identify the nouns and verbs and then sketch or draw the image that those words helped to create in their head.
This activity can be used with any text and is editable.
