Word identification is an important part of learning to read. This song teaches children the three things you can do when you don't know a word: sound it out, look for small parts, and look around for clues.

This silly story will help students build schema for comprehension strategies. After learning the names, they will have existing knowledge they can "add to" as they learn to use each of these strategies.
