Adding Negative and Positive Integers Animated
This is a set of 8 PowerPoint animations illustrating how to add and subtract negative and positive integers. The methods I used in this presentation mostly revolved around zero pairs. I especially liked the visual I made for subtracting a negative (the subtraction sign sends out lightning bolts to turn the negatives into positives)
These slides were originally made for inclusion in a school-wide slideshow that we have running all day long in all the classrooms. So in their current form, the

Experience
I taught Algebra/Geometry in High school for 4 years. I also have been teaching pre-AP Algebra and 8th grade Math in middle school for the last 6 years.
Teaching style
Technology heavy teaching style. I made my own virtual whiteboard with a Wii remote and I use powerpoint presentations and things like the eInstruction remotes all the time.
Awards & shining teacher moments
My students think I'm awesome, does that count? hehe
And the old saying about always a bridesmaid and never a bride applies to me and the teacher of the year voting at my school. They like me enough to keep putting me on the ballot, but I never seem to win. Personally, I think it's because I'm in a portable building and they think less of me because of that. :)

Additional biographical information
I am a native Houstonian who is back home teaching math to at-risk kids. This is definitely NOT what I saw myself doing when I was a student, but I love every minute of it. I am also a father to an awesome, rambunctious 3 year old boy.
