This lesson aligns with NGSS 3rd grade standards of heredity (3-LS3-1.Analyze and interpret data to provide evidence that plants and animals have traits inherited from parents and that variation of these traits exists in a group of similar organisms). This purchase alone is an interactive journal insert where students discover what the parents of an animal look like with justification from heredity discussion. It includes the Powerpoint.

Use this subtraction strategy mat for 2 digit subtraction. The color coding helps students keep their tens and ones organized. The colors match with my Addition Strategy Mat!

This packet is designed to work with 3 stations. Students should rotate through 3 examples of Newton's Laws (one law for each station). When they are at the station, they have to draw what happens, write what they notice (observations) and wonder (inquiry-based questions), and then figure out which law the station is an example of and how they know. The back has a place for students to write a claim with evidence about physics and how force/motion works.

Students will have to create a landscape to help reduce erosion for a local celebrity or whoever you decide. They have a budget to stick to and will have to create a blueprint as well. I made a Powerpoint to go with this, and used our principal with cool sunglasses as our "celebrity".

Students will test out materials and then plan for a boat to float in a tub. Students have to work independently and the collaboratively with a group, justifying their choices in materials and build.
