Crystal growing kits are a great way to engage students in a discussion about crystals! This sheet can be used to record observations and facilitate further discussion in the classroom. My students loved watching their crystals grow and change over about a week's time; this recording sheet helped them keep track of their progress, and reflect on the growth at the end! This is a great addition to any geology unit, or just a fun science experiment!
I have had many young students over the years who even though they are toilet trained, experience some regression or have accidents. This chart will reinforce bathroom use for reluctant bathroom users, and reward students even for trying. Rewards can be changed based on individual interest. In my classroom, 3 chart stickers in a day can be cashed in for a large sticker and 4 stickers in a day means 5mins of iPad use at the end of the day. A weekly total reward or a week free of accidents can als

The Iditarod is a fascinating and engaging topic for students of all ages. Print these double sided tic tac toe boards, slip them in a laminated / dry erase pocket, and enjoy endless games of tic tac toe all while practicing some tricky vowel teams! My students love to practice their reading with games, and tic tac toe is a fun and easy way to tie in learning while having fun. Boards included focus on first grade skills such as long vowel teams (long i - i, ie, igh, y) (long o - oa, ow, oe) (long e - ie, ee, ea) (long e - ey, y), and a CVC word board.
Perfect for a snow day take-home activity or any other snowy occasion, this worksheet is a great hands-on activity to learn about types of snowflakes! Students can use a magnifying glass or just look closely to identify types of snowflakes. In my class I used this as a take home activity for a snow day. Students completed this with their families then brought it back the next day to discuss what different types of snowflakes we could all find. A great way to engage families for a home-school con
Determining the correct order of adjectives can be tricky for young students. Help your students work on this skill with this fun and silly worksheet! *Note*: The thumbnails do not display the formatting correctly. Download the documents to properly view the worksheets.
A great get to know me activity for younger grades, or a differentiated activity for older students.
