The TI84 calculator has many built in functions that are never used. This document is designed to be a quick tutorial on how to use many of the most useful ones. All of the functions can be found by going through the CATALOG (2ND 0). There are other methods for reaching each of these functions, however, this tutorial will not address those directions, absolute value, circle, factorial, conjugate, gcf, gcd, lcm, remainder, divisor,
Step 1: Solve for x or y in one equation. Choose the x or y that has either a 1, 2, 4
or 5. Look for the multiples in that order. NEVER CHOOSE AN X OR Y
WITH A "3" as your keeper.
? Step 2: Substitute your new value into the other equation. This will create a
longer equation, but the equation will have only one variable and will be much
easier to solve.
? Step 3: Solve for x AND solve for y.
? Step 4: Check your answers algebraically by substituting your found values into
both equation
