This choice board covers NGSS motion and energy performance expectations and is aligned for Kindergartn through 2nd-grade students. If you like this resource please rate it and write a review! H
This test includes the following topics: layers of Earth, fault types, forces in Earth's crust, structures from fault boundaries, natural disasters caused by plate movement, types of magma and lava, parts of a volcano. Questions are in multiple formats, including MC, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, matching, and short answer. Please rate and review my resource after using it! Happy teaching :)
This quiz assesses student learning of Earth structures. Topics include the theories of continental drift and plate tectonics, layers of the Earth, differences among Earth's layers, evidence for Earth's layers, and the four spheres of Earth (hydrosphere, geosphere, biosphere, atmosphere). The quiz includes four multiple choice, five true/false, and eight fill-in-the-blank questions.

This is a comprehensive rubric that can be used for any presentation project pertaining to weather phenomena and hurricanes. I used it specifically for Florida weather patterns and hurricanes, but it can be used in any state as the rubric does not mention FL. Guidelines and instructions for student presentations can be created to coincide with this rubric or you could use the rubric by itself to guide student creations and assess. Let me know how you use it by leaving feedback and rating this p
This is super helpful to remind students about types of variables in a scientific investigation. I give a copy to my fifth graders when they start STEM Fair projects!

This project is designed to be an assessment of an environmental science unit. The project has students demonstrate learning of air/water/land resources and their sustainable use. Students demonstrate learning by creating a plan of action to educate their school community about resources then implementing several action plan steps to make sure resources are being conserved. The PDF includes a project overview and day 1 agenda, plan of action worksheets for air, land, and water resource groups, a
What are the benefits of various structural adaptations of plants?
In this three-part lab investigation, students will determine why different plants have different shaped leaves, leaves with different textures, and leaves with varying thickness. Specifically, students are investigating how these differences help the plant manage water loss depending on its ecosystem.

This is a summative assessment tool for students to demonstrate knowledge after a volcano unit. Give students a choice between taking a test or creating one of my volcano projects! Detailed instructions and rubric is included in this download. After purchasing, review my product and let me know how you used it! Enjoy :)

Through this lab investigation, students will determine which substance (salt, sand, or sugar) is most soluble and which are not soluble. Students have the opportunity to design their own way of testing the solubilities of the substances and creating their own data table. This can be used as a nature of science assessment or an exploration of matter.

This resource can be used as a refresher, a homework practice, or a class assessment of student knowledge and use of independent variables, dependent variables, and types of investigations. I've used it with fifth graders before as a way to give practice after introducing types of variables in an investigation. I've also used it with eighth graders as a way to quiz them on their prior knowledge of this topic. Let me know how you use it in the comments!

This simple lab investigation involves an investigative question, materials list, procedure, and four questions/activities to wrap up the learning. While fun and sure to elicit "ooh's" and "aah's," this project can be completed in one 40-50 minute class with only minor set-up and clean up. Enjoy!
