Print cards, laminate and cut. Use to play a game. Use any game board (ie Candyland, Chutes and Ladders etc.) students read question, roll dice/spin a spinner if they get the question correct and move that many spaces. Partner/group members use answer key to check their work.

This file contains picture and word cards used to match/sort milliliter and liter estimates. This will allow students practice with the size of the metric volume units. The sort can be played in many different ways such as memory/concentration, war or simply sorting and matching the word to the picture.
Easy to use this with ESL students for introduction, practice and assessment of vocabulary and estimation.

I use these cards to introduce reading a graduated cylinder and discussing mL and L. Students are given all the cards and must match them together by correctly reading the measurement.

Teaching style
I love using centers and games to learn for all subjects. I tend to trick my kids into playing a game that they have to answer questions in order to play the game :)
When I teach science I prefer hands on experiments using science journals that require the kids to think, predict and record at different stages of the activity.
Math centers work best for my classes. This allows me to work with students individually and allow students to learn independence. I use math journals as well to take notes, record learning, write vocabulary and answer questions with deep thought and work shown.

--Bachelors degree in Elementary Education with specializations in Math and English.
--Masters degree in Elementary Math and Reading.
--Certified to teach in Michigan, Georgia, North Carolina and Texas.
--Common Core trained.
